Fiber Crucible Furnace
Fiber crucible furnace is a melting furnace with ceramic fiber insulation lining and a crucible. Compared to old brick lined crucible furnaces, the fiber gives you faster heat-up, less heat storage, lower energy bills, and better thermal efficiency. The crucible holds the molten metal. The heating system – electric or gas – puts heat into the crucible from all around.
Danyang Dingfeng Industrial Furnace Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of fiber crucible furnace in China. If you're going to wholesale durable fiber crucible furnace made in China, welcome to get pricelist from our factory. All customized products are with high quality and low price.
Product Definition
Fiber crucible furnace is a melting furnace with ceramic fiber insulation lining and a crucible.
Compared to old brick lined crucible furnaces, the fiber gives you faster heat-up, less heat storage, lower energy bills, and better thermal efficiency. The crucible holds the molten metal. The heating system – electric or gas – puts heat into the crucible from all around.

Working Principle
You put metal into the crucible. Then lower the crucible into the fiber lined pit.
Fire up the heating system – electric elements or gas burners. The fiber lining doesn't soak up much heat. That's the whole point. The heat goes straight into the crucible walls. The metal inside melts fast.
The fiber insulation also holds the heat in. Once the metal is molten, the furnace maintains the temperature without burning a lot of fuel or power. Less waste.

Features
- Saves power. The full ceramic fiber lining has low thermal mass and good insulation. Compared to a brick lined fiber crucible furnace, you save forty to fifty percent on energy.
- Heats up fast. The lining doesn't absorb heat. So the furnace reaches operating temperature quickly. A brick furnace might take an hour to come up to temp.
- Handles thermal shock. Fiber doesn't crack when you heat it up fast and cool it down fast. Bricks do.
- Lightweight and easy to install. Fiber is about one tenth the weight of brick. The whole furnace weighs less. Easier to move, easier to install. The foundation doesn't need to be as beefy. Saves money on installation.
- Low maintenance. Modular fiber lining. If a section gets damaged – say someone bumps it with a ladle – you pull out that module and stick a new one in. Takes maybe an hour. Brick repair? You're mixing mortar, cutting, fitting. Takes a day or more.
Applications
Foundries and die casting
High volume melting and holding of aluminum, zinc, magnesium alloys. Automotive castings, general castings.
Automotive manufacturing
Aluminum alloy wheels, engine blocks, transmission components.
Non-ferrous metal processing
Alloying, remelting, temperature holding of copper, brass, bronze.
Hardware and sanitary ware
Zinc and aluminum for faucets, fittings, appliance parts. A hardware maker melts zinc for die casting. Fiber crucible furnace gives them clean metal and low energy use.
Metal recycling
Remelting scrap non-ferrous metals. A recycler melts aluminum wheels and extrusions. The fiber furnace heats up fast so they can do multiple batches per day. More throughput.
Customization
Dingfeng Industrial Furnace. We build to your needs.
- Fiber grade selection. Standard 1260°C fiber for aluminum and zinc. High purity 1400°C fiber for copper and bronze. The higher grade costs more but lasts longer at high temperature. I usually spec the high purity for anyone running above 1000°C.
- Crucible size and material. Capacities from 50 kg to 1000 kg. Steel crucible or silicon carbide. SiC transfers heat better and lasts longer. Steel is cheaper but doesn't like thermal shock. For aluminum, SiC is the way to go. For zinc, steel is fine.
- Heating system. Electric or gas. Electric is cleaner, easier to control. Gas is cheaper to run in most places. I ask customers what they pay for electricity and gas. That tells me which way to go.
- Automation. Automatic metal dosing – the furnace pours itself. Temperature logging. PLC control. Some customers want fully automated – just load metal, push a button, come back later. We can do that.
- Fume extraction. Exhaust ports and a hood. If you're melting dirty scrap – painted aluminum, oily zinc – you need extraction. Even clean metal gives off some fume. Better to vent it.
