Trolley Type Heating Furnace

Trolley Type Heating Furnace

Our trolley type heating furnace is for heating up big or heavy workpieces. You use it for annealing, tempering, normalizing, quenching, curing — pretty much any heat treatment job that won’t fit in a normal furnace. The whole thing sits on a movable trolley, what we call a car bottom. You load your parts on the trolley outside the furnace, roll it in, heat them up, roll it back out. Simple. Saves a lot of hassle moving heavy stuff around, and it’s safer for the guys on the floor.

Danyang Dingfeng Industrial Furnace Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of trolley type heating furnace in China. If you're going to wholesale durable trolley type heating furnace made in China, welcome to get pricelist from our factory. All customized products are with high quality and low price.

Product Definition

Our trolley type heating furnace is for heating up big or heavy workpieces. You use it for annealing, tempering, normalizing, quenching, curing - pretty much any heat treatment job that won't fit in a normal furnace. The whole thing sits on a movable trolley, what we call a car bottom. You load your parts on the trolley outside the furnace, roll it in, heat them up, roll it back out. Simple. Saves a lot of hassle moving heavy stuff around, and it's safer for the guys on the floor.

Working Principle

Basically you turn electricity, gas, or oil into heat inside the chamber. Here's how it goes step by step:

Put the workpieces on the trolley.

Push the trolley into the chamber along the rails - we use a motor drive for bigger loads, but small ones you can do by hand.

Close the door. Some are automatic, some manual, depends on what you order.

Fire up the burners or heating elements.

The hot air circulates, insulation keeps the heat where it belongs, and the temperature evens out - more or less, depending on how you stack your parts.

A controller follows your heating curve. We use PID or PLC depending on how fancy you want to get.

Cycle finishes, trolley comes out, you unload or let it cool.

Can you get precise control? Sure, within reason. But "precise" means different things to different people. If you're doing aerospace work, you care about every degree. If you're just stress-relieving big weldments, you've got more wiggle room.

Features

  • Big load capacity – Built for heavy industrial work. Steel structures, castings, molds, big mechanical parts - we've done up to 150 tons on one trolley.
  • Even heating – That's the goal anyway. The airflow pattern and chamber shape matter a lot. We've fixed plenty of "optimized" furnaces from other makers that still had cold spots near the door. Ours do okay if you don't pack them too tight.
  • Energy saving – Good refractory and insulation cut down heat loss. But honestly the biggest energy waste we see is operators leaving the door open too long. You can't fix that with better bricks.
  • Temperature control – PLC or PID, yes. But here's something I've learned over 20 years: your control accuracy only holds once the chamber is fully soaked. Ramp-up will overshoot unless your tunings match the load. Same controller, different load size? Different results.
  • Heating options – Electric, gas, oil, or hybrid. Electric is cleaner at low temps but slower to ramp. Gas heats faster but you need good circulation or the uniformity goes out the window. Oil is cheap in some places but messier to maintain.
  • Easy loading/unloading – The trolley system really does help. But I'll tell you one thing nobody mentions: the rails shift over time, especially with heavy loads. Plan on shimming them every couple of years. Not a big deal, just don't ignore it.
  • Tough structure – Heavy steel frame, heat-resistant lining. The lining usually wears out first - not the steel. That's why we use modular sections so you can replace just the bad part instead of rebuilding the whole chamber.

Applications

We've sold trolley type heating furnaces into all kinds of industries:

01/

Metallurgical – Annealing, tempering, normalizing steel.

02/

Machinery manufacturing – Gears, shafts, bearings, rollers, big assemblies.

03/

Aerospace – Structural parts and alloys that need tight control.

04/

Automotive – Molds, forged parts, transmission components.

05/

Energy and power – Boilers, pressure vessels, pipes, power equipment.

06/

Casting and forging – Stress relief and heat treatment. One customer runs 80-ton casting batches through theirs. The trolley holds up fine as long as you don't drop anything on the rails - which they did once, and we had to straighten them.

07/

Steel structure – Large welded fabrications that need preheat or post-weld heat treatment.

Customization Capabilities

We do custom work all the time. Here's what people usually ask for:

Chamber size - length, width, height, whatever fits your parts

Multiple temperature zones - separate sensors and loops, not just one controller pretending to be multiple zones

Auto or semi-auto operation - depends on your labor situation

Electric, gas, or oil - we can tell you what makes sense for your energy prices

Protective atmosphere - for alloys that oxidize easily

Heavy-duty trolley - we've done up to 150 tons

Energy-saving burners - mainly for gas-fired units

Explosion-proof - for certain coating and curing applications

Data logging and remote monitoring - people ask for this more and more

Auto loading/unloading - conveyor or robot integration, but that gets expensive
