Working Principle
Inside the chamber, electric resistance heating elements convert electrical energy into heat. That alone would cause uneven temperatures, so a forced hot-air circulation system is added. The two together create a high-velocity, reasonably uniform airflow field inside the chamber. Heat transfers to the workpieces on the movable car via forced convection.
The workpieces are heated to the rated tempering temperature of 750°C. They soak for a preset time depending on section thickness and material. After that, most of the quenching stress is relieved. Dimensional stability improves. Toughness and mechanical properties typically come up as well.
The movable car runs on rails. That makes loading and unloading straightforward. The furnace body stays stationary while workpieces move in and out - a practical setup for batch tempering large parts.
