Working Principle
The whole operation breaks down into four main steps:
Loading & Entering – Using a crane or forklift, you place the workpieces onto the bogie outside the furnace. Then a traction mechanism pulls the bogie smoothly into the chamber.
Heating & Soaking – After the furnace door seals shut, the heating elements (resistance ribbons or burners, depending on the model) kick in, raising the temperature to the preset quenching level. An advanced microcomputer control system keeps the temperature precise, ensuring even heating and complete austenitization.
Rapid Quenching – Soaking done? The bogie quickly rolls out. For standard models, a lifting mechanism lowers the workpieces into a quenching tank. For tilting bogie furnaces, the bogie hydraulically tilts - typically to about 45° - sending the hot workpieces sliding fast into the quenching medium (water, oil, etc.). The result? High hardness.
Unloading & Cycle – After quenching and cooling, you unload the workpieces. Then the bogie resets, ready for the next batch.
