Product Definition
Ordinary well furnace. Some people call it a pit furnace or a vertical furnace. It's a vertical industrial heat treatment furnace that goes in the ground. Used for long, cylindrical, or heavy metal workpieces – things that don't work well laying down.

Working Principle
You hang the workpieces from a fixture or directly from the furnace lid. Lower them down into the deep chamber.
Close the heavy lid. Seal it.
The heating elements run up and down the vertical walls – electric resistance wires or gas radiant tubes, depending on what you ordered. They bring the chamber up to temperature.
A circulation fan – high temperature rated – pushes air down and around. Down the center, up the sides. That gets heat to the whole length of the workpiece. Without that fan, the top gets hotter than the bottom. Every time.
You hold at temperature for whatever soak time your material needs. Then lift the parts out. Cool them or quench them, depending on the process.
