Working Principle

 

The tube is a barrier. The dense crystalline structure – mostly corundum phase – keeps the outside out. Put a thermocouple or heating element inside the tube, and the tube protects it from the furnace atmosphere. No oxidation, no corrosion, no slag sticking to it.


At the same time, the tube conducts heat well enough that the thermocouple still reads accurately. You don't lose much temperature through the wall.

  • High heat resistance. These high-alumina ceramic tubes run at high temperature for a long time without getting brittle or warping. A 99% alumina tube can run at 1700°C continuously.
