Corundum High Temperature Brick
Corundum high temperature brick is a high end refractory brick made from high purity alumina – Al₂O₃ content typically above 90%. The crystal structure is corundum, which is just a fancy name for alpha alumina. That structure gives the brick high heat resistance, good strength, wear resistance, and chemical stability.
Danyang Dingfeng Industrial Furnace Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of corundum high temperature brick in China. If you're going to wholesale durable corundum high temperature brick made in China, welcome to get pricelist from our factory. All customized products are with high quality and low price.
Product Definition
Corundum high temperature brick is a high end refractory brick made from high purity alumina – Al₂O₃ content typically above 90%. The crystal structure is corundum, which is just a fancy name for alpha alumina. That structure gives the brick high heat resistance, good strength, wear resistance, and chemical stability.

Working Principle
The performance comes from the dense crystal structure. The corundum crystals bond tightly together – we use phosphate or high purity calcium aluminate cement as the binder. The result is a compact barrier that molten metal, glass, and slag have a hard time penetrating.
The aluminum oxide bonds stay stable at high temperatures. The brick doesn't soften or deform under heavy loads. I've seen these bricks hold up under a 10 ton stack of steel slabs in a reheating furnace.

Features
- High heat resistance. These corundum high temperature bricks run for years at 1600°C or more. In a petrochemical reformer, they see 1800°C at the hot face. Still hold up.
- High strength. Good compressive strength. They don't crush under heavy loads. A typical corundum brick tests at 80 to 120 MPa cold crushing strength.
- Wear resistance. Hard surface. If you have material moving across it – like sintered ore on a kiln hearth – corundum bricks last much longer than high alumina bricks.
- Chemical stability. Resists slag, molten metal, and corrosive gases. A steel ladle lined with corundum bricks handles multiple heats of molten steel without eroding.
- Thermal shock resistance. Not as good as some other materials, but better than dense firebrick. They tolerate repeated heating and cooling cycles without cracking if you're not too aggressive.
- Long life. Durable. You don't replace these often.
Applications
Petrochemical industry
Steam reforming furnaces, gasifiers, high temperature reactors. The hottest zones.
Ceramic and kiln furniture
Setter plates, pusher plates, saggers. Anything that needs to carry heavy loads at high temperature.
Iron and steel metallurgy
Blast furnace bottoms, torpedo ladles, slide gate systems. Where molten iron and slag eat away normal brick.
Glass industry
Direct contact with molten glass. Glass attacks most refractories. Corundum holds up.
High temperature electric furnaces
Hot face lining for box furnaces and car bottom furnaces that run above 1500°C.
