Furnace Distribution Cabinet

Furnace distribution cabinet is the electrical panel that takes the main power and splits it out to all the furnace components – heating zones, motors, fans, vacuum pumps, controls. Think of it as the power hub. Without it, nothing gets electricity.
The cabinet sits between your plant's main supply and the furnace. It makes sure each component gets the right amount of power, and it protects everything when something goes wrong.

Danyang Dingfeng Industrial Furnace Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of furnace distribution cabinet in China. If you're going to wholesale durable furnace distribution cabinet made in China, welcome to get pricelist from our factory. All customized products are with high quality and low price.

Product Definition

Furnace distribution cabinet is the electrical panel that takes the main power and splits it out to all the furnace components – heating zones, motors, fans, vacuum pumps, controls. Think of it as the power hub. Without it, nothing gets electricity.

The cabinet sits between your plant's main supply and the furnace. It makes sure each component gets the right amount of power, and it protects everything when something goes wrong.

Working Principle

The furnace distribution cabinet connects directly to your facility's main power – 10kV, 6kV, or 380V/480V three phase, whatever you have. Power comes in through a main circuit breaker. That's your master disconnect. From there, it goes to busbars and then to subsidiary breakers for each output circuit.

Those outputs feed the heating elements (often through power regulators in the control cabinet), circulation fans, quench motors, vacuum pumps, and cooling systems.

Inside the cabinet, you've got fuses, contactors, and thermal relays. They protect against shorts, overloads, and phase loss. If a heater shorts out, the breaker trips. If a fan motor overheats, the thermal relay opens.

Features

  • Handles high power. These cabinets manage loads from a few hundred kilowatts up to several megawatts. A typical 2-meter box furnace draws maybe 150 kW. A big vacuum furnace for superalloys can pull 2 MW. The furnace distribution cabinet has to handle it without cooking itself.
  • Circuit protection. High-breaking-capacity breakers, fuses, surge protectors. They protect the furnace and your plant grid. A dead short on a heating element can draw thousands of amps. The breaker has to open fast – we spec breakers with an interrupting capacity of at least 50 kA for most industrial furnaces.
  • Power distribution. Copper busbars and terminal blocks. The busbars need to be sized right – too small and they heat up. A 1 MW furnace needs busbars at least 80mm by 10mm, depending on the copper grade. We oversize them a bit for safety. Terminal blocks need to handle the amperage. A loose connection there is a fire hazard.
  • Safety and isolation. The cabinet is enclosed – usually IP54 or IP65. That keeps dust and water out. Safety interlocks prevent the door from opening while the main bus is live. An operator shouldn't be able to touch anything inside unless the power is off. I've seen cabinets with the interlock bypassed. That's an accident waiting to happen.
  • Good components. We use Schneider, ABB, Siemens, or similar. No cheap stuff. In a hot, dusty plant, cheap contactors weld shut. Then you can't turn the heater off. That's bad.
  • Thermal management. High current makes heat. The cabinet needs ventilation. For small cabinets, just vents and a fan. For big ones, air conditioning. One customer had a 2 MW cabinet with just two small fans. The busbars got hot enough to discolor. Added a AC unit. Problem fixed.
