Working Principle

 

The cabinet gets signals from sensors – thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, limit switches. These go to the PLC and temperature controllers.

 

Based on the program you set, the system adjusts:

Heating power. Solid state relays or SCRs. SCRs are smoother – they don't click on and off like contactors. You get tighter control.

Zone temperatures. Each zone has its own PID loop.

Atmosphere controls. Valves open and close. Gas flows.

Cooling and interlocks. The furnace won't let you do dumb things – like open the door while the elements are live.

 

Temperature Control Accuracy

The spec says ±1°C to ±5°C. That range covers different conditions. In a small lab furnace with good tuning, ±1°C is real. In a 10-meter-long production furnace with drafts and loading variations, ±5°C is more honest. A customer running a 2-meter box furnace for tool steel tempering measured ±2°C across the load using nine thermocouples. That's good enough for H13 dies.
