Storage Method Of Vacuum Furnace
Apr 18, 2026
When a vacuum furnace is not in use for an extended period or is in standby mode, it should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated environment free of corrosive gases to prevent moisture or oxidation of the furnace's metal parts and electrical components. The storage location should be far from acidic or alkaline substances, areas with heavy dust, and flammable or explosive materials to ensure the equipment is in a relatively stable environment.
Before storage, the vacuum furnace should be thoroughly cleaned, and residual gases and moisture in the vacuum system should be purged. All valves should be closed to prevent backflow of air. If necessary, dry nitrogen gas can be introduced into the furnace cavity or a desiccant can be placed to reduce internal humidity and protect the furnace chamber and metal structure from corrosion.
Critical components such as the electrical control system and vacuum pump should be powered off and protected against dust and moisture. For equipment stored for long periods, regular inspections and electrical maintenance should be performed to prevent aging of seals, moisture in the circuitry, or jamming of mechanical parts, ensuring that the equipment maintains good performance and safety upon restarting.
